On January 6, just a few hours after the deadly Capitol insurrection, Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto spoke out against the 56 House Republicans who voted to overturn Nevada's election results. Now the GOP is funding a Big Lie Republican to take her seat.
Republicans are tapping Adam Laxalt, a former co-chair of Trump's reelection campaign in Nevada, to defeat Cortez Masto and take back the majority next year. This is the same man who spearheaded Trump's failed legal challenges to Nevada's election results and introduced failed requests to stop counting mail ballots.
CNN is already projecting that Cortez Masto will lose her seat because not nearly enough Democrats are paying attention to this race.
We need to change that, John. If we don't act now, we'll lose the first and only Latina serving in the Senate, and Mitch McConnell will have the Senate majority for the remainder of Biden's presidency.
