Hey Friend!

Did you enjoy the email Anne sent with the tweet I posted last year at
this time? Here’s my favorite edited photo from this spring. This is
definitely how it felt to head to Carson City for a third time in a year.

BBP does this work because your rights, well-being, and access to
democracy depend on grassroots advocacy and engagement. [ [link removed] ]We depend on
your support and I need your help to raise $5,000 before July 1st to end
our fiscal year strong.

If you missed our #NVLeg Wrap Up on Thursday, check out how it went and
what I’m most excited about:

* Nevada FINALLY took a step toward mining paying its fair share. Mind
you, this is the first step and certainly not the last!
* The ghost gun legislation made it to the Governor’s desk! Working on
gun violence prevention since 2009, it was a real honor to represent
you and every single BBP member at the Governor’s bill signing.
* A slate of voting rights bills made their way through the two houses
and the legislation will  strengthen our democracy by increasing
access to voting. Together we made vote-by-mail permanent, expanded
automatic voter registration, and Nevada is now the first state to
vote in presidential primary elections!
* When Majority Leader Cannizzaro introduced the Nevada Public Option,
we went to work to make sure every Nevadan would have access to
affordable and quality health insurance. Plus! My secret favorite bill
passed, making birth control available over the counter at the
pharmacy without having to get a doctor’s prescription every single
month.

So many important, progressive, and Nevada-unique bills got passed that I
can’t list them all. Check out [ [link removed] ]all our legislative session work and see
how your legislators voted.

Progress is the work of a lifetime! With the legislative session behind
us, you can join the effort preparing for the forthcoming special
legislative session addressing redistricting; working with stakeholders to
implement the legislation passed this year; and advocating for federal ARP
funds to be spent appropriately as our state recovers from the pandemic.

As we work on all this and more, the BBP team needs your support.
Please [ [link removed] ]help us reach our $5,000 Fiscal Year End goal.

I really appreciate your support and encouragement!
