Hi friend,

Proactive momentum for reproductive freedom just hit another high point: California just became the first state in the nation to require public state colleges to offer access to medication abortion!

Earlier today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed S.B. 24, which will help remove unnecessary travel and cost barriers for students seeking abortion care. The enactment of this law demonstrates how state and local officials can boldly protect and expand access to abortion - and California is part of a growing number of states leading the way to secure abortion access at a time when our most basic rights are under attack. We couldn't be prouder of the lawmakers, advocates, and activists who brought this bill over the finish line!

This proactive victory comes shortly after Austin secured city funding for abortion access practical support, and New York City's first-in-the-nation initiative to directly fund abortion care. We are proud to have led the charge in New York, and to continue our support of state and local advocates across the country, as they push forward innovative policies to protect and expand abortion access. You can read more about how states and localities are working to protect abortion access on our website [link] - and you can count on us to keep that list growing. [link removed]

In solidarity,
