John — we’re heading into the 2022 midterms with a 5-vote House majority, and a razor-thin 50-50 Senate margin. Historically, the president’s party loses an average of 26 House seats and 4 Senate seats in the midterms.
That means we need every dollar possible to defend our majorities and beat the odds. Can you help? Pitch in $10 before the FEC deadline.

From the fight for the Senate majority, to Donald Trump’s second impeachment, to passing the American Rescue Plan, and leading the effort to end the Senate filibuster — Adam has been putting it all on the line to strengthen our democracy and stop Trump’s anti-democratic, anti-truth cult of a Republican Party from retaking power.
But with the 2022 elections looming, we need to face the facts: Mitch McConnell is one seat away from regaining the Senate majority, and just 5 seats give us a hold on the House majority.
In short, we’re facing a tough battle to buck the midterm trend and keep control of Congress. Historically, the president's party loses 26 seats in the House during their first midterm.
Remember, Democrats were in an even stronger position in 2009 than we are today. We had just won a filibuster-proof 60-seat Senate majority and 257 seats in the House. But then, our supporters checked out. Donations, volunteering, grassroots energy — everything slowed down. The Tea Party took hold and didn’t let go.
By 2010, Democrats had lost 63 House seats and the majority. And the progress that President Obama had promised on the campaign trail ground to a halt. Four years later, McConnell and the Republicans took the Senate majority.
It’s been a long way back to Democrats regaining control of Congress, but unlike 2010, our majorities are razor-thin.
So right now, we must do everything we can to prevent the losses of 2010 from happening again. If not, we’re in real trouble.
That means we’re going to need a lot of grassroots donations between now and Wednesday’s FEC deadline to defend and expand our majorities. Because Republicans will do and spend whatever it takes to stop us.
Please contribute $10, $25, or whatever you can afford today to help Adam continue defending our democracy before the FEC deadline. This is really important — we need as many contributions as possible to prepare for what’s ahead.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thanks for whatever you can contribute before this important FEC deadline.
