John,

In 2010 — the first midterm election after President Obama was elected — Republicans won 63 House seats and took back control of the majority.

As we approach the first midterms under President Biden, our majorities in Congress are already fragile enough as it stands. Republicans only need a handful of seats to win back control of the House, and a 50-50 majority in the Senate still isn’t enough to ensure our progressive agenda gets passed and sent to President Biden’s desk.

But John — we can prevent history from repeating itself.

If we organize, mobilize, and get out the vote just like we did in 2020, we will protect our majorities and continue to make progress with the Biden-Harris administration. To do that, we’ll be counting on grassroots support to fuel our efforts.

Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans know history is on their side, and they’re raising millions of dollars to flip seats from blue to red. So ahead of our campaign finances going public after this month’s FEC deadline, we are setting a bold quarterly goal of $100,000 to show them no signs of vulnerability.

With so much at stake, I’m asking you to help us out. Will you chip in toward our end-of-quarter goal and help us prevent history from happening again?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Whether you chip in $10 or $100, thank you for whatever you’re able to contribute today. Together, we’ll build a strong, responsive campaign today so that we can defend and expand our House majority from Republicans in 2022.

In solidarity,

Barbara Lee
