Here’s how we keep our seat in Virginia – and how you can help.
Here’s the situation in Virginia, friend: A progressive champion, Democratic Attorney General Mark Herring, is facing off against a right-wing extremist, Jason Miyares, in the only AG race of the year – and the first one since Trump’s defeat.
The Republican Party will sink serious money into this race, and we have to be ready to match them dollar-for-dollar as November approaches. Next week, we’ll turn in our quarterly fundraising numbers to the FEC – and it’s crucial that we have a strong showing.
While AG Herring’s track record of fighting for Virginians – on everything from civil rights to gun violence prevention – stands tall, the GOP will not stop spending big to try to discredit him. Last time, Republicans spent more than $7 million in their failed attempt to unseat AG Herring.
Friend, Virginians will suffer if Miyares wins this race. He made that clear when he voted against Medicaid expansion, a move that would have left 600,000 Virginians without health care. And when he voted against common-sense gun reforms and life-saving criminal justice reforms.
Unfortunately, the list goes on and on; Miyares has repeatedly proven that he’ll choose partisan points over the interest of Virginians. We’re doing everything we can to keep AG Herring in office so he can continue defending our rights.
