Brad Lander for NYC Comptroller

Hi John,

We’re still waiting for ranked choice ballots to be counted, but we’re feeling really proud of the campaign we ran with your help. Thank you for being part of it every step of the way.

This year’s ballot counting is a little different than usual, so I want to share what we expect:

On Monday, the Board of Elections will start opening absentee ballots. On Tuesday, the last day for absentee ballots to arrive, they will run the first ranked choice tabulation to count the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place votes.

Then there’s time for people whose absentee ballots had mistakes to fix them, and then another round of counting the ranked votes with absentees included.

It might be a few weeks for final results, but we should have a pretty definitive sense of where things stand on Tuesday. We’re excited about the broad coalition that Brad built across the city, and optimistic that our significant lead will hold.

That all said, there’s a lot going on in the next few weeks and we still have ongoing expenses -- and new ones including legal fees.

Can you help us close out the counting process with a contribution today?

Many thanks for everything you did to help us get here,

Chris Walsh
Campaign Manager
