John,

This was on my friend's Facebook page.

It reads:
“As a late onset, type one diabetic, when the new administration determined that I “made too much money” to any longer use the VA, this was a major problem. With no insurance at the time and three years to Medicare, I halved my insulins for nearly a year. When again I was able to see a doctor, she was shocked that I had survived. For the hundreds of thousand less fortunate than I, corporate greed can be a death sentence.”

This is the sad reality we’re seeing play out in our country, with deadly consequences. For people who can’t afford the skyrocketing price of insulin, there’s no choice.

Private corporations are price-gouging insulin because they know people depend on it to live. The only thing they care about is their bottom line.

Just like this person said, corporate greed can be a death sentence.

It shouldn’t be this way.

Working people shouldn’t have to rely on private corporations for life-saving drugs.

That’s why Medicare for all is so important — it would allow every single person to have access to the health care they need at an affordable price that won’t leave them drowning in debt.

With Medicare for all, no one will have to choose between insulin or rent.

We just need representatives in government who have the political courage to pass it.

I’m running so future generations don’t have to know this kind of pain. If you can, please chip in any amount so we can win this race.

- Eva
