* New Report Tracks Google's Gifts to Media: On Wednesday, CfA released a released a new report, Google’s Media Takeover, which documents how Google contributed more than half a billion dollars to news and media organizations around the world. * Play the Google Blame Game: Whenever Google is caught doing something dubious, even “evil,” its response is always the same: It’s someone else’s fault. In honor of Google’s 21st birthday a few weeks ago, we created our own "Google Doodle" to showcase a sampling of Google's blame-shifting. Enjoy! (Play the Google Blame Game ([link removed]) )
* CfA Files FCC Complaint Against Judicial Crisis Network for Violating Consumer Protection Laws: Judicial Crisis Network, a conservative legal advocacy nonprofit dedicated to appointing anti-abortion judges, sent mass robotexts from a misleading number during the confirmation hearing of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, in apparent violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. * Victory: Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer Vetoes Funding for Real Alternatives Following CfA's Complaints: CfA previously called on Michigan government officials to investigate and terminate the state’s contract with Real Alternatives, an anti-abortion nonprofit organization that misused taxpayer dollars and failed to provide promised health services.
