Moments ago, police officer Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 22 years for
murdering George Floyd in broad daylight, in a street full of witnesses.

At first, a local prosecutor resisted throwing the book at Chauvin. Then,
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison took over. He upgraded the murder
charges against Chauvin and got Chauvin convicted.

With today's sentencing, Keith Ellison is calling on Congress to pass the
George Floyd Justice and Policing Act and to pass it now.

America needed Keith Ellison at this moment, and America needs him now. He
is running for re-election in 2022 after a narrow victory in 2018. The
right wing will be trying to defeat him.
