White House, bipartisan Senators reach infrastructure agreement
Yesterday’s agreement simply would not have happened without the courage of No Labels’ House and Senate allies and the relentless campaign from the No Labels grassroots. It’s an amazing demonstration of what this movement can achieve. But we haven’t won a victory yet, as leaders in Washington are already playing politics by trying to conditional the passage of this 2-party infrastructure bill with a separate partisan bill. That’s why it's critical that we keep the drumbeat going and continue to contact the White House and our Congressional representatives to tell them to stay at it, get it done and take the infrastructure deal on the table.

After weeks of standstill, senators say they've reached agreement on $1.2T infrastructure 'framework'
By Ledyard King

A bipartisan group of senators said they have reached an agreement in principle with the White House on a roughly $1.2 trillion infrastructure plan, breaking a weeks-long logjam on a sweeping deal to modernize America's deteriorating transportation systems such as rail, bridges and waterways. It's expected to win approval from lawmakers in both chambers eager not only to address the country's crumbling...

‘We have a deal’: Biden announces infrastructure agreement
By Jonathan Lemire, Josh Boak and Lisa Mascaro

President Joe Biden declared on Thursday that “we have a deal,” announcing a bipartisan agreement on a $953 billion infrastructure plan that would achieve his top legislative priority and validate his efforts to reach across the political aisle. Biden made a surprise appearance in front of the cameras with members of a group of senators, Republicans and Democrats, after an agreement was reached at the White House.

In America, You Get to Speak Your Mind
By The New Center

Without freedom of speech, assembly, and petition, social movements throughout America’s history would not have flourished. We’re at a similar infection point for the modern era: will we continue to champion these fundamental ideas or fall into an authoritarian trap?  As unelected gatekeepers continue to slide society away from this founding principle, we put together a five-point plan on how to recenter the conversation...

No Labels Delaware Poll Reveals Overwhelming Support for 2 Party Infrastructure Proposal in Joe Biden’s Home State
By No Labels

Delawareans are rarely polled but No Labels just did a survey of the president’s home state to get a better sense of what those voters want him to do on these negotiations. We found 73% of Delaware voters—including 67% if Democrats—want the President to take the $1.2 trillion bipartisan deal that’s on the table as opposed to holding out for a bigger deal.

A bipartisan infrastructure package will do more good for America
By Richard Gephardt and Tom Davis

We believe that a large, bipartisan investment in America’s infrastructure with support from leaders in both parties will make a bigger down payment on the nation’s future growth than an even larger bill that passes over the objections of a united minority. Here is a rare opportunity to reverse the vicious cycle that has turned Democrats and Republicans into perpetual adversaries. Americans deserve better from Washington. This is an important opportunity for Congress to deliver what the American people want.

Wine, watermarks and a farmer's nudge: How the infrastructure deal got done
By Burgess Everett and Marianne Levine

“The question has always been, 'What do we have to do to get it done?'" said Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.). And what was the answer? “Wine. The answer was wine. There was plenty.” The bipartisan crew was already getting to work as Democrats passed their $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief law in March. Sinema and Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) began convening talks on a deal to boost roads, bridges and broadband but tried to stay in the background as Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) kicked off infrastructure talks with Biden that eventually sputtered.
