If there's one word that I've learned the value of in these past few years, it's perseverance.

Frankly, it's frustrating to watch Mitch McConnell and his allies strike down nearly every single piece of legislation that the Democrats bring forward, even when the proposed legislation is supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans.

We saw it happen recently with the voting rights bill, where Republicans voted in lockstep against legislation that was aimed at strengthening our democracy. All while they ramp up voter suppression efforts around the country.

Even in Pride month, we're seeing this obstruction unfold with the Equality Act. Legislation aimed at prohibiting LGTBQ+ discrimination is stuck in the Senate -- all because Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans won't even bring the bill to a vote.

Those are just a few examples, John, and it won't stop there. From promoting union jobs to urgent action on the climate crisis, we are facing a major roadblock: the GOP.

That's why we need to fight for every single Democrat-held seat in Congress, and that starts with getting ahead on our fundraising this year.

Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell will be keeping a close eye on our FEC reports, taking note of how much we raise and when.

They'll use every tactic in their playbook to unseat Democrats in Congress in 2022. But we're going to show them that we're not backing down, that we're not intimidated by obstruction, and that we are going to protect our majority in 2022.

We have so much to fight for, and there is too much on the line -- a livable planet for our children, affordable health care and child care, voting rights, racial justice -- for us to give up now.
