As co-chair of the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus, Derek is committed to restoring and conserving Puget Sound for future generations. That's just what his bill, The Promoting United Government Efforts to Save Our Sound (PUGET SOS) Act of 2021, would do.

Derek proudly co-sponsored this bill with Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland. The PUGET SOS Act of 2021 would provide millions of dollars in funding to restore the orca population, protect salmon, and uphold tribal treaty rights.

The passage of this bill in the House is a critical step toward ensuring future generations have access to Puget Sound's natural resources. Now we need the Senate to act too.
