United Methodist Communications, in collaboration with other denominational leaders, is building on the People of God campaign, launched in 2020. The addition of a new hashtag and call-to-action – #BeUMC – invites church members to embody the church’s values, embrace its aspirations, and remain with The United Methodist Church even in difficult times. Campaign resources include graphics that illustrate each of the associated words and story content that demonstrates how church members are living out the core values that connect the people of The United Methodist Church. Beginning with July 2021, new graphics will include the #BeUMC hashtag. They will appear in denominational advertising and may be used by local churches, annual conferences and other United Methodist organizations on their websites and social media channels. Each month focuses on a specific word. The graphics will continue to be built in multiple languages, and previous graphics will soon be updated with the new hashtag.
