Friend --

Next Friday, we’ll hit July 2nd, the exact midpoint of 2021.

It’s already been an intense year for our progressive, pro-Israel,
pro-peace movement. From the Georgia Senate races to the January
insurrection to injustice in East Jerusalem and the horrific Gaza
escalation, our community has been a vital force as we mobilize for peace,
justice, equality and democracy both here at home and in Israel and the
occupied Palestinian Territory.

Today, I’m asking for your support. Just seven days out from July 2, we’re
falling $36,101.50 short of our midyear fundraising goal -- can you help
us close that gap?

With new leadership in Israel and the United States, we must seize this
moment to ensure our values and our priorities are at the forefront. We
cannot afford to let the conversation about Israel/Palestine be dominated
by right-wing extremists or those who seek to defend and distract from an
unjust, unsustainable and bloody status quo.

Right now, 15 J Street leaders from across the country are pledging to
double every online donation before the July 2
deadline. [ [link removed] ]Can you make a matched donation of
$9,

As we move on from the disastrous Trump and Netanyahu eras, we need our
leaders to make a clean break from the failed policies of the past. We
need a new vision for the US-Israel relationship and for American
leadership in the Middle East.

Together, we’re making clear that our relationship with Israel is
strongest when guided by both a commitment to Israeli security and a
commitment to our shared values of justice, equality and democracy. We’re
insisting that to truly live up to Israel’s promise as a just, democratic
and secure homeland for the Jewish people, we must end the occupation and
pursue a future in which both Israelis and Palestinians can realize their
fundamental rights to peace, freedom and self-determination.

We have important work ahead of us. In the coming weeks, we can expect new
developments surrounding the attempted dispossession of Palestinian
families in Sheik Jarrah, announcements on progress in the Iranian nuclear
negotiations in Vienna and further decisions about US and Israeli policy
with regard to settlement expansion and de facto annexation.

As these issues rise to the fore and our leaders are called to respond,
it’s vital that our movement is well-resourced and ready to mobilize.

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans who want
Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the Jewish people.
Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we advocate policies that
advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish and democratic values,
leading to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
