The Energy Affordability Act (HB 2475) recently passed in the Oregon Senate thanks to the hard work of Oregon Just Transition Alliance and others in their broad coalition who have been organizing for energy democracy throughout the state! Once the Governor signs this bill into law, the Public Utility Commission will be able to create rate structures to reduce energy costs for low-income Oregonians. Additionally, organizations representing environmental
justice communities will be supported to participate in energy decision making at the Public Utility Commission. Congrats to communities in Oregon on passing such a historic bill! |
