Tell Congress:
In the upcoming reconciliation bill, we need to see Medicare improved and expanded, by adding vision, dental, and hearing coverage, lowering the eligibility age to 60, and ending out-of-pocket caps. Additionally, we must makelong-overdue improvements to the Supplemental Security Income program of Social Security.

John,
Yesterday, a bipartisan group of Senators announced a deal with President Biden for a small, flawed infrastructure package, which Democrats plan to pair with a more expansive and complete reconciliation bill. Whether or not the small package is worth passing will be determined by what’s in the second bill.
Democrats have a real opportunity to improve people’s lives. All of our voices can help make sure that they seize it!
Send your letter to your members of Congress to demand that they expand Medicare and improve Social Security’s SSI program!
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is already working with Budget Chairman Bernie Sanders to lower the Medicare eligibility age to 60, and expand its benefits to cover dental, vision, and hearing, and end out-of-pocket caps on coverage. This would immediately and dramatically improve seniors’ lives!
And SSI currently has an outdated asset limit and maximum monthly benefit, both of which trap beneficiaries in poverty. The next package must increase monthly benefits to at least the federal poverty level, raise the asset limit, and abolish SSI marriage penalties.
These demands are all things that President Biden campaigned on. Together, we will make sure that they are enacted in the next package!
Write your members of Congress today and demand that they improve and expand Medicare and SSI in the next bill!
Thanks,
Michael Phelan Social Security Works
