Bernie Sanders and I are fighting to expand Medicare — and NEW polling

We have a unique opportunity to build on the American Rescue plan and pass
a bold, transformative piece of legislation — one that includes expanding
Medicare.

That’s why Bernie and I have been pushing President Biden to (1) lower the
Medicare eligibility age, (2) expand Medicare to cover dental, vision, and
hearing care, and (3) lower prescription drug costs for everyone.

President Biden supported these policies. A new Data for Progress poll
shows that people across America — Democrats and Republicans alike — do
too. Now, we must make it law.

make this overwhelmingly popular Medicare expansion the law of the land.

Here’s a reminder of what Bernie and I are fighting for:

* Lowering the Medicare eligibility age: This would immediately extend
coverage to at least 23 million people, including many who lost
insurance during the pandemic. 72% of Democrats and a majority of
Republicans agree!
* Improving Medicare benefits to finally cover dental, vision, and
hearing care, and cap out-of-pocket costs: This will give folks on
Medicare much needed coverage to see the dentist, get hearing aids,
and afford a new pair of glasses. Nearly 90% of Democrats and 76% of
Republicans agree!
* Empowering Medicare to negotiate drug prices for everyone: The U.S.
spends far more than any other country on prescription drugs, despite
Medicare Part D being the largest purchaser. We need the government to
use its power to negotiate drug prices down for everyone.

Together, we can enact this historic expansion of health care and lower
costs for millions of people.
