Back in 2010, I was a member of the House of Representatives for Wisconsin’s second district. Democrats had a filibuster-proof 60-member majority in the Senate and President Obama in the White House. But then something happened… folks had begun to tune out.

That November, fewer people turned out to the polls. Democrats lost six Senate seats and 63 seats in the House. We wouldn’t regain the majority of both houses for another decade.

Mitch McConnell turned the Senate into a legislative graveyard — refusing to work with President Obama and even blocking his Supreme Court nominee. Now, he’s betting this will happen again. He’s doing everything he can to reclaim the Senate majority and stop the Biden administration “100%.” We can’t let him.

Folks, I’m not telling you this to scare you, but with so much work still ahead, I want to know that we did everything we could to protect our majorities and continue making progress for working families. So I have to ask:

Will you make a contribution toward our campaign’s effort to organize voters year-round and protect our Democratic majorities in Washington? We cannot let McConnell back in charge.

We can’t allow McConnell to reclaim the majority next year and block our progress. But we must come to terms with the hard truth that McConnell and his allies could easily squeak by if we do nothing to stop them.
