John,

Congress is trying to reach an agreement on a massive infrastructure spending package, and there's a recently proposed plan that must be stopped. This infrastructure proposal would promote privatization of essential services and facilitate a Wall Street takeover of our water.

Water privatization leads to higher rates, worse service, lost jobs and a loss of accountability to the people. These water corporations only have one goal: profit.

Send an urgent message to President Biden and Congress: Reject privatization in the infrastructure package!

Private utilities typically charge 59% more for water service than local public utilities. Already, nearly one in three U.S. households struggles to afford their water and sewer bills, and many people have fallen even further behind due to the pandemic.

As more people are burdened by unaffordable water bills, we’ll see higher rates of water shutoffs. We can’t let this happen.

Our water systems are essential to our health and quality of life. Take action to stop this pro-privatization infrastructure proposal today!

When we hand over control of public water to private corporations, we limit our tools to protect our critical water systems. Now is the time to take action: Reject water privatization in all its forms and fight for a bold, uncompromising infrastructure package that provides real federal funding at the level our communities urgently need.

You fought with us this past year to demand an end to water shutoffs so that people can have access to water during the pandemic and beyond. As we continue to gain momentum in our work to ensure clean water for all, we must also stop dangerous proposals like this one that would put the future of our essential resources in the hands of greedy corporations instead of the people.

Please join me to demand clean, affordable water for all.
