Friend, I've devoted my life to public service. I’ve been an impeachment manager who prosecuted a corrupt president. I’ve represented the incredible people of Orlando in Congress, with pride. I served in law enforcement for 27 years and was the first Black woman to ever serve as Orlando's chief. 

But before all that, I was a Black girl who grew up poor in the South. I went to segregated schools. I could only dream of a seat at the table in politics – or even just being in the room. Nearly every day, I think about the fact that I am a descendant of slaves who knew that they would not make it, but dreamed and prayed that one day I would.

I feel the momentum that's powering this campaign – momentum that comes from grassroots supporters like you. Because guess what, friend? I only need a few more donations by 11:59 p.m. to put me over the top of my $50,000 fundraising goal! We're building a massive movement to flip Florida blue and defend our Senate majority – will you join me by making a contribution right now?

We already know the Republican Party is going to throw whatever they can at us – that's why I'm so thrilled so many of you have stepped up to build a grassroots movement that can fight and win.
