Coinciding with inflation rising faster than it has in 13 years, the cost of driving in California will inflate again on July 1, when the next round of motor fuel excise tax increases takes effect. Let’s start with zoning, a set of regulations that allow local governments to determine what gets built. In theory, zoning is supposed to be about separating incompatible uses and funneling growth into the right areas. But in practice, many California cities enforce unreasonably strict zoning regulations, effectively blocking all development.

Is Colorado “Equal Pay” Law Excluding Remote Workers?

Nike, IBM, and Johnson & Johnson are among the large companies that specifically state a remote worker may not live in Colorado and apply for remote work positions. Nike’s job postings go as far as saying any candidate from Colorado must relocate. Drizly, an alcohol delivery and e-commerce company, lists two different job postings; one for candidates in Colorado and one for the rest of the country.
