I spoke on the Senate floor about how our democracy is stronger when more people
vote. The federal government has an important role in ensuring that every
American can vote -- we passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting
Rights Act of 1965 -- and we will not give up on enacting the crucial reforms in
the For the People Act.
