The Defeat of HR1/S1 (For Now)

Good news Hoosier Republicans: the Democrat election hijacking bill, HR1/S1 is dead. For now at least. The Orwellian titled “For the People Act” was nothing short of an attempted takeover of our elections. The bill would have allowed partisan ballot harvesting, threatened election security by weakening common-sense voter ID laws, paved the way for DC statehood, mandated taxpayer funded political campaigns, stuffed voter rolls with unverified registrations, and would have expanded flawed and insecure vote-by-mail systems where ballots are mailed to voters regardless of it the ballot was requested or not. Our thanks to Senators Young and Braun for holding strong in the Senate and to our GOP delegation in the House for always fighting to protect our elections.

Of course, while the defeat is welcome, we all know that it isn’t necessarily over. Anyone who’s seen Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th knows that even when the monster dies, it isn’t truly dead. In fact, we know Washington Democrats are already plotting ways to sneak these dangerous provisions into other bills. We’ll remain vigilant and keep you informed on ways to protect the security and integrity of our elections systems.

Thanks

Kyle
