The fight for clean water continues.

You deserve a congrats on a victory toward PFAS-free water.

Hi John,

Just a quick update on our effort to protect Wisconsin from toxic PFAS chemicals in our water.

Despite pro-polluter industry groups flexing their considerable resources to deny meaningful reform and standards for PFAS in our state’s drinking water, we can claim a victory today.

The DNR’s Natural Resources Board (NRB) approved new parameters for limiting the “forever chemicals” in the rulemaking process that will eventually become standards for our drinking water. This is another step in a longer process toward addressing these biologically destructive compounds that are in our water and our bodies.

The board received more than 120 letters of support for limiting PFAS in our water and only 10 in opposition – and ALL of those in opposition were ag and chemical industry-backed lobbying groups.
In this case, our voices – conservation voters and our allies – trumped the usual cacophony of callous baloney that organizations like Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce present to the NRB and other deliberative bodies.

I know that sometimes sending messages to boards or elected officials can feel like pouring a glass of water into Lake Michigan. But, be assured your voice is powerful. And when united in solidarity with other conservation voters and concerned citizens, it’s a force to be reckoned with. You deserve congratulations.

Thank you again, and keep updated on all things WCV by visiting conservationvoters.org.

Thanks for being a conservation voter,
