Hi John, my name is India Walton.
I’m a nurse, a mother, and a community activist. And as of Tuesday night, I’m proud to say, the Mayor-elect of Buffalo, NY.
Getting here was hard work. As an all-volunteer team taking on a four-term incumbent, we heard over and over again that we didn’t have the right experience, that we didn’t belong in politics.
We were told to give up our fight for a Buffalo where people are housed, healthy, and can live to their full potential.
With no support from the Buffalo Democratic establishment, we turned to the Working Families Party. And you delivered.
WFP members, staff, and supporters like you gave crucial time and resources to support our campaign. Together, we’re changing the narrative around what’s possible — both in Buffalo and across the country.
My story is similar to so many in our beloved community. The Working Families Party works hard every day to build a country where everyone can thrive by passing progressive legislation and electing champions of the left.
And we’re not done yet.
If you want to see progressive leaders elected at all levels of government, make a contribution to the Working Families Party today.

Now is the time to get involved and make a statement that our campaign isn’t over — it’s just getting started.
We’re coming for all the damn seats.
