John,
350 Chicago has been working with the Climate Crisis Policy Group to pass meaningful, thorough legislation at the national level that addresses the climate crisis with the urgency that is needed! Two ways in which we are doing this:
1. Asking national representatives to co-sponsor and pass 10
Many of the bills under consideration in Congress at this time are deeply flawed and inadequate. They rely on "carbon capture and storage," "carbon offsets," and other false solutions. Climate Crisis Policy Group has intensely researched and reviewed with experts in many fields which actions provide true and impactful solutions to the climate crisis. The Earth Bill was born from this process. ?You can learn more about the analysis and strategy behind the Earth Bill here.
The Earth Bill does not yet have a congressional sponsor, so it does not have a bill number. But it is supported by a huge Coalition of Coalitions, organized by Climate Crisis Policy.org. ?There will be rallies supporting the Earth Bill at Congressional offices across the country on July 2nd. Be part of this effort to awaken the American people and our lawmakers to the urgency of the Climate Emergency.
Declare your independence from fossil fuels by joining an in-person rally. The one listed below targets a representative with whom 350 Chicago has been meeting. ?
