This month we have 2 guest speakers, so lots to learn.
Our first speaker is Amanda Burman an Al Gore trained Climate Reality Leader who will tell us about her environmental work with the UN in Iceland and Africa. Amanda who is "passionate about preserving ocean health and reducing plastic waste" is “an enthusiastic environmental and socially conscious eco-preneur with 20 years of leadership in hospitality, operations, and technology. She owned and operated restaurants in a highly competitive market implementing zero-waste strategies and constantly exploring opportunities to do things sustainably better, faster and eco-friendlier.
Our second speaker is Cassidy Pollard. Cassidy is a recent graduate from George Mason University and is the Campus organizer for the non profit, UnKoch My Campus.
She will speak about how, for decades, Charles Koch and his political network have been perpetuating climate denial and preventing changes needed to address the climate crisis, and how they have been using universities to accomplish their goals.

We will leave time for Q & A after each speaker. Looking forward to some lively discussions!

Each speaker will have at least one action item for us, which they will tell us about during their talk.
