NATIONALS REFUSAL TO RULE OUT NET-ZERO EMISSIONS TARGETS HURTS FARMERS

Pandering to climate change alarmism continues to divide the Australian Government and put the lifestyle and livelihoods of farmers at risk.
This is why One Nation leader Senator Pauline Hanson called for farmers to be given a firm commitment from the Nationals, who have been putting out mixed messages, on the prospect of net zero emissions by 2050.

“Barnaby Joyce might say the Nationals view this through ‘different eyes’ but with his deputy David Littleproud saying ‘never say never’ to net-zero, farmers are understandably very concerned the Nationals are abandoning farmers to shore up their power in the Coalition,” Senator Hanson said.
“As long as the Coalition, Labor and the Greens continue to pay lip service and waste billions of dollars to placate climate change zealots, Australia will continue to be held hostage by unaccountable climate change ideology.

“This puts our farmers’ lifestyles and livelihoods at risk, along with Australia’s long term food security. The prospect of farmers being paid by taxpayers not to farm in order to meet some arbitrary emissions target decades in the future is appalling, and smacks of the anti-competitive farming subsidies employed by the European Union and the United States to disadvantage more efficient Australian producers.

“One Nation is firmly committed against net zero emissions by 2050. We want farmers doing what they do best – producing the food and fibre which has cemented Australia’s reputation as a leader in agriculture, looking after the land like only they know how, and bringing much needed export dollars into our economy and into rural communities. We need to get out of their way, not tie their hands behind their backs and undermine our future food security.

“The Nationals have failed farmers on water reform in the Murray-Darling Basin. They failed the dairy industry in its crisis. Farmers are looking for effective, decisive leadership and they’re not getting it from the Nationals. Farmers are looking for a firm commitment to protect their lifestyles and livelihoods and they’re not getting it from the Nationals.

“Memories are short. In 2019, Queensland voters sent a clear message by rejecting climate change ideology in favour of jobs and energy security; without this support, the Coalition would not be in government today. The Nationals will ignore this rejection at their peril.”

SENATE REJECTS CRITICAL RACE THEORY THANKS TO ONE NATION

The Government was sent a strong message this week after the Senate voted to support a One Nation motion calling for Critical Race Theory to be rejected from the national curriculum.
The motion, moved by One Nation leader Senator Hanson was only opposed by Labor, the Greens and independent Senator for South Australia Rex Patrick.

Speaking with Alan Jones after the Senate win, Senator Hanson called out Critical Race Theory over its over discrimination on the basis of race.

Put simply, Critical Race Theory teaches that all white people are racist oppressors and all coloured people are oppressed victims. It teaches white children to feel guilt and shame over the actions of their ancestors and teaches black children they can't succeed in life because of the colour of their skin.
What could be more racist than that?
One Nation will continue to hold the Government to account for its commitment to Australian people to keep this divisive nonsense out of schools.

As long as One Nation has a place in Parliament we will fight to make sure the children of Australia get a proper education, not the extremist, racist, political indoctrination supported by Labor and the Greens.

LABOR BACKFLIPS ON WATER TRADING REGISTER IN DODGY DEAL

Labor has sensationally backflipped and killed off One Nation legislation to create a water register.

Despite being opposed by the Liberals and Nationals, the amendment from Senator Roberts was passed in the Senate with the entire cross bench and ALP in support.

But it didn’t take long for the Liberal, National, Labor alliance to kick into gear and kill off this reasonable attempt to create more transparency in the water trade.

“The lack of a transparent water trading register has allowed aggressive traders to inflate prices and starve productive land of much needed water,” Senator Roberts said.
“This is forcing family farms off the land with a catastrophic cost to locals jobs and the ruination of rural communities,”

However it appears the ALP and the Government did a dodgy deal to vote the amendment down in the lower house.
“This water trading register will give the Inspector General of Water Compliance the information he needs to clean up water trading and restore confidence in Basin management,” Senator Roberts said.

Once again the Liberals, Nationals and Labor have shown their willingness to team up to protect their own interests against the interests of everyday Aussies.
