Welcome to The Agenda (yeah - THAT agenda), your weekly update on what's happening in the LGBTQ political world. Whatever you do, don’t forward it to Mike Pence. He doesn't need to know what we're planning! Forward it to a friend instead.

Overview: Mayor Pete's plans, Election Day Countdown ticks on, runoffs in North Carolina and more!
COUNTDOWN TO ELECTION DAY 2019
There's less than one month until Election Day and 109 LGBTQ candidates on the ballot. These are their stories. *dun dun!*
In one of the most closely watched special elections in the country, Spotlight candidate Eliz Markowitz just raised $60,000, giving her a competitive edge in the Texas state House race.
And in Virginia, Spotlight candidate Danica Roem has launched a TV ad highlighting her hardwork to improve Virginia’s notoriously bad Route 28.
Spotlight candidate Dawn Adams – also running for reelection in Virginia – spoke with constituents during a meet and greet about her future plans for Virginia.
Some elections are even sooner: Evan Bergeron is getting ready for his election this Saturday in Louisiana where early voting just finished! He will be the first openly LGBTQ state legislator in Louisiana history if elected.
THE WINNER’S PODIUM
Great news from North Carolina: three of our LGBTQ candidates have advanced in their races!
Incumbent Jillian Johnson received the most votes in her over-crowded primary for Durham City Council and will advance to the November General Election. Watch her react to winning here!
At-large candidate for Raleigh City Council Jonathan Melton received the second most votes in his race for two open seats. He’s currently waiting to hear if he’ll head to a runoff.
Victory Fund candidate Saige Martin was also the top vote getter, but because of wonky North Carolina election law, he may also head to a runoff. He’s also filed a complaint against his opponent for attempted electioneering at the polls..
Jonathan and Saige will be the first openly LGBTQ city councilmembers in Raleigh history if they win their races in November!

TAKEOVER THURSDAY
Big news, social media fans! Thursdays in October, one of our endorsed candidates will be taking over our social media to give us an inside look into their race and life on the campaign trail. Tune in next week for Ali Brown’s takeover! Ali’s running to be the first openly LGBTQ woman elected to the Indianapolis City-County Council. Tune in next Thursday, October 17th!

FEEL THE PETE WAVE
Just in time for CNN’s LGBTQ Townhall last night, Pete dropped two policy plans: one addressing rising drug prices and boosting medical innovation, and the other mapping a new era for LGBTQ Americans!
Victory Fund President & CEO Mayor Annise Parker called Pete's plan “comprehensive, inclusive and ambitious”. Read her full statement here.
Pete also sat down with the Bay Area Reporter, where he named several LGBTQ elected officials that inspire him. Including, of course, Mayor Annise Parker. Thanks!

THAT'S A WRAP!
Before we sign off to enjoy the long weekend (thank you, indigenous people, for your countless contributions!) here are some quick updates:
Alejandra St. Guillen, running to be the first openly LGBTQ woman on the Boston City Council, was just endorsed by Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley! She also spoke at length about the family tradgedy that drove her to run for office.
Sadly, Victory Fund incumbent Mike DeFusco is facing a barrage of homophobic remarks from a local blogger. But he's shrugging them off.
