While some organizations are using 2021 to slow down and reflect, Emerge is moving full speed ahead with our training and recruiting to elect Democratic women across the country.

One of my favorite things about Election Days is waking up the next morning to tons of messages from women that are ready and want to run for office. To meet these growing demands, we need to further expand our programs.

And I have some news that couldn’t have come at a better time — a generous donor has agreed to match all contributions up to $10,000 between now and midnight on June 30th. Can you contribute today to make the most of this opportunity?

Our programs work.

But we depend on supporters stepping up and chipping in when they can.

We’ve celebrated wins in the deep South, blazed trails in Democratic strongholds, and we know that our alums have lasting impacts on their communities.

A’shanti F. Gholar
President, Emerge

Join us this month for our Pride Step Forward Training

At this Step Forward, you’ll hear from LGBTQ+ elected and civic leaders discussing their experiences on the campaign trail as they make positive change across the country. Following that, we will lead an in-depth training to help participants drive their passions and begin to build their path to public office. The training will take place on Tuesday, June 29 at 8:00 ET, see you there! [link removed]

In case you missed it
We held an incredible grassroots virtual event on May 26 where we were joined by alums from across the country, and special guests like Secretary Hillary Clinton and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley — if you missed it, or want to watch it again, click here. [link removed]

As A’shanti said in her recent OpEd featured in The Hill, “Black women have long been putting in the work, and if that doesn’t make us qualified to lead, I’m not sure what does.”

This email was sent to [email protected]. Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are working to bring their values up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities like the environment, accessible and affordable healthcare, social justice and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

Email is the best way for us to keep you informed about what’s happening with our work. You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support—that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women.
