Dear John,
It remains the largest mass-murder of Jews since the Holocaust.
25 years ago this week, Iran and Hezbollah terrorists bombed Argentina’s AMIA Jewish community center, murdering 85 people, injuring hundreds, and traumatizing the world’s sixth-largest Jewish community.
Ever since, AJC has advocated tirelessly, in partnership with Argentina’s Jewish community to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Across the U.S., AJC is holding memorial events for victims of the AMIA attack to both honor their memories and maintain the pressure to hold Iran and Hezbollah accountable.
As we remember the victims, some countries still refuse to recognize the entirety of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, choosing instead to draw a false and bizarre distinction between the organization’s “military” and “political” wings – a distinction Hezbollah itself says does not exist.
Please join us in calling on the international community to once and for all label ALL of Hezbollah a terrorist organization, cutting off their expanding fundraising and operations networks in Europe, Latin America, and around the world.
Here’s what you need to know and what you need to do: |
- AMIA at 25: An oral history with survivors of the attack and AJC’s leaders who rushed to support Argentina’s Jewish community. Read now.
- What will Latin America do about Hezbollah? In an op-ed for El Pais, the premier publication in the Spanish-speaking world, Dina Siegel Vann, the Director of AJC’s Belfer Institute for Latino and Latin American Affairs, delivers a stirring message to Latin America’s leaders. Read now.
- Watch and share: Too few know about the tragic AMIA attack. Even fewer know of Hezbollah’s expanding terrorist network. Watch now and share on Facebook or Twitter.
- Take action: Sign AJC’s petition urging the international community, including the EU, to designate ALL of Hezbollah a terrorist organization. Sign here or go to AJC.org/StopHezbollah.

This week, we remember the 85 lives cut short 25 years ago in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Do not let their deaths be in vain. Help us hold Hezbollah accountable and stop Iran’s proxy from expanding its terror network around the world.
Please take action now at AJC.org/StopHezbollah.
Sincerely,
Daniel Elbaum
