Medication abortion care is a safe, effective, FDA-approved, and non-invasive option for ending an early pregnancy. People should be able to access medication abortion care from their own doctor. Like other barriers to abortion care, the harm of restrictions on medication abortion falls hardest on people of color, people who live in rural areas, and those with lower incomes. And with a conservative supermajority in control of the Supreme Court, the outcome of the upcoming Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case could leave millions of people without access to ANY abortion provider in their state.
