Hello,
In a few moments, I’m going to make an important ask ahead of our campaign’s end-of-quarter deadline. ([link removed]) But first, let me explain why your donation is so important right now.
This year we finally took back the House, the Senate, and the White House. And we’ve acted swiftly to deliver pandemic relief and help millions of folks get vaccinated.
Meanwhile Republicans are abusing the filibuster and exploiting our narrow majority to stop us from voting on more important bills that people and our planet are counting on. The other day it was on voting rights and democracy reform. Tomorrow it could be on climate action.
This should raise every alarm. Our democracy and protecting the right to vote is foundational to our identity as Americans. And if we don’t take on climate change with real urgency, right now, we will have failed the next generation and every generation after in the biggest way possible.
We’re seeing the devastating impacts of climate change here in New Mexico. The historic drought and heatwave we are experiencing is our new normal — a reality we simply cannot accept.
Now is the time to address climate change in immediate, actionable ways. Now is NOT the time for more obstruction.
We need to establish a clean energy standard to move toward 100% carbon pollution-free power, create good-paying jobs electrifying America, and take action to conserve our planet for future generations.
I will keep fighting to abolish the filibuster, take bold climate action, and support New Mexico and our country. But I’m counting on your help to do everything we can to protect our wins, strengthen our majorities in both houses of Congress, and deliver on our promises to act on climate.
We can’t afford to miss this opportunity to make a difference. Too much is at stake, folks.
So here’s that ask I promised: Will you chip in whatever you can ahead of our deadline? Your support will help us abolish the filibuster, act on climate, and protect our Democratic majorities in Washington. We’ve come too far to let Mitch McConnell take back power now: [link removed]
I wasn’t elected to play partisan games; I was elected to make real progress on the issues that matter most to workers and families. I will always fight to do just that. Thank you.
—Martin
