Days ago, hundreds of Indigenous peoples arrived in Brazil's capital, launching a powerful, spontaneous mobilization to defend their rights and lands. They were met with tear gas, rubber bullets, and police in riot gear.

Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry needs to hear this: Any partnerships with Bolsonaro on the Amazon will make the U.S. complicit in the theft of Indigenous lands! Kerry must speak out now.

Yesterday, Bill 490 advanced in the Brazilian Congress. This law would make demarcations of Indigenous territories unfeasible, allowing them to be opened up even more to extractive projects, such as mining, roads, and hydroelectric plants. We must act immediately. The resistance continues and we cannot let up the fight!
