My first electoral loss in politics came after 10 victories.
It was a shock. I wish I could tell you that there was some fluke that caused me to lose. But the reality is that we got outspent, plain and simple.
My biggest mistake was not sounding the alarm. And from that day forward, I promised myself I'd never make the same mistake again, which is why I'm so anxious heading into 2022 midterms.
Across the country, Democrats are taking a step back and allowing our victories in 2018 and in 2020 to go to our heads, not allowing ourselves to understand the reality of this critical moment.
I want to be clear: We are at risk of losing our House majority in 2022.
