The COVID-19 vaccines are extremely effective in preventing death, serious illness, and hospitalization from COVID-19, which has disproportionately impacted people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Working together, we can bridge this gap & ensure equitable access to the COVID-19 vaccines.
Over 170 million people in the US have received at least one dose of the vaccine! If you need more information about how vaccines work, what side effects they might have, how to get vaccinated, and more, you can check out our COVID-19 vaccine fact sheets and videos here. They’re available in English and Spanish, and are in plain language so that everyone can understand the important information we need to make good decisions about the vaccine. Then, find a vaccination location near you!
Everyone 12 years or older is eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccines are free — regardless of health insurance or immigration status. The CDC is urging everyone who hasn’t been vaccinated yet to get their first shot before the Fourth of July!
If you’re not sure where or how to get vaccinated, make a vaccine gameplan! Then take a look at this appointment checklist for all the things to know before you go. Let’s make sure everyone has the information and resources needed to get vaccinated, keep our friends and families safe, and eventually end this pandemic.
