James Carville joins NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus lineup as keynote [ [link removed] ]
Credit unions are encouraged to join NAFCU’s Government Affairs Team to connect with policy makers and industry leaders during the premier credit union lobbying event of the year. NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus, held in Washington D.C. from Sept. 12-15, will also be available virtually for those not able to join us in-person. 


NAFCU reiterates support for CLF [ [link removed] ]
 Yesterday, NAFCU sent a letter to the House Financial Services Committee to reiterate NAFCU’s strong support for H.R. 3958, the Central Liquidity Facility Enhancement Act, which makes the changes to the Central Liquidity Facility (CLF) in section 4016 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) permanent.


NAFCU's Thaler shares CU perspective ahead of hearing to examine FY22 budget [ [link removed] ]
Ahead of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) hearing to examine President Joe Biden's fiscal year 2022 budget proposal, NAFCU’s Brad Thaler reiterated the association’s concerns about increased reporting requirements for financial institutions present in the proposal.






Existing-home sales fall in May; NAFCU expects sales to remain strong in 2021 [ [link removed] ]
Existing home sales fell 0.9 percent in May to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.80 million units. This represents a 44.6 percent increase in sales versus a year ago. In a new Macro Data Flash report, NAFCU's Curt Long noted “existing home sales dipped for their fourth consecutive month in May to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.8 million, roughly at its July 2020 level.”
