In just a minute, I am going to ask you to make a donation to our campaign for Senate in North Carolina. Will you give me a chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so important?
In less than a week, we are going to close the books on our first fundraising quarter since we launched — an important moment for our campaign.
It’s an official FEC deadline, so when it gets here, we will have to publicly report our numbers for the first time. So a lot of people will be asking, "how much money have you raised?" and "how many donations have you received?"
They ask because they know that Republicans are willing to spend and say anything it takes to hold this seat. People want to know that our grassroots campaign has what it takes to defeat them.
That’s why we are pushing for as many individual donations as we can get before our first FEC deadline comes to an end.
We are looking at this deadline in a different way. It’s not just about how much money we raise before it ends, it’s about showing how many people, just like you, are supporting this campaign.
