The United States wastes $47 billion dollars a year enforcing a drug war that has saddled millions of people with criminal records and lifelong burdens and barriers, making it harder to get a job, housing, and even a credit card. ===New York and New Mexico legalized marijuana for adult use. New York City used to be the marijuana arrest capital of the country, but today New York State is a model for marijuana justice.

===Congress repealed the “drug question” that made students ineligible for federal financial aid if they had been convicted of a drug crime.

===Oregon became the first state in the nation to shift to a health approach to drugs, by decriminalizing the personal use and possession of all drugs, and expanding access to treatment and other health services.

Friend, we need to build on these achievements. And the most critical next step we can take today to end the drug war devastation is to decriminalize all drugs. People suffering from addiction need help, not punishment. There is a will to do it, but it requires your financial support!
