Tune in next week as we convene leaders and experts working to draw attention to global food production and it’s critical role in the battle against climate change.

When it comes to tackling the climate crisis, the focus tends to be on clean energy solutions. But the global food system is a key contributor to emissions and is projected to rise steeply as the world’s population grows. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change found that more than a third of global greenhouse gas emissions come from the production, distribution, and consumption of food. How can technologies and innovations developed in other sectors be applied to agriculture to help boost the efficiency and sustainability of our food system?

A new initiative launched by the UAE, the U.S. and other partnering countries aims to elevate the role of agriculture innovation on the global climate agenda: The Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate seeks to catalyze global investment in agricultural research and development that will enable the industry to better combat climate concerns.

Join us next week to hear from leaders behind this effort who are working to address agriculture on a global scale, drive international collaboration and prioritize innovation and technology for a sustainable future for food and farmers.

You’ll hear from:
  • Hana AlHashimi, Head of the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change Office
  • Jim Barnhart, Assistant to the Administrator, Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, USAID
  • David Livingston, Senior Advisor to U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry
  • Abdulaziz AlMulla, Founder and CEO, Madar Farms
  • Ruramiso Mashumba, Farmer, Zimbabwe
