The FBI released a new report yesterday acknowledging that angry Trump supporters in multiple online groups and on various social media platforms were talking openly in the days leading up to the January 6 Capitol riots about storming the Capitol and bringing guns to start a "revolution."

I joined Morning Joe to discuss this new report and my support for the select committee in the House to investigate the January 6 insurrection after Republicans filibustered the proposed bipartisan commission in the Senate. We need answers and we need to find out exactly what happened, how it happened and who was involved in this attack on America.
It's been painful and appalling to watch my colleagues, whose lives had been attacked and who helped barricade doors after an attempted coup against the United States, walk back into the Congress and repeat the lies that the election was stolen that led to the violence we experienced.
Republicans know and understand that this was a Trump catalyzed event , even if they refuse to acknowledge it publicly. The facts are inconvenient to their attacks on Democrats and inconvenient to their plans to retake the House of Representatives and the Senate. Don't be fooled.
We cannot and will not accept this behavior from those sworn to uphold the United States Constitution and protect this country. I'm looking forward to getting the answers we all need as investigations begin into the events surrounding the deadly insurrection. We will get to the bottom of this and we can't let this ever happen again.
