Friend,
Call it the Jim Crow filibuster. Call it the fossil fuel filibuster. Whatever you call it, it's got to go.
By now, you've probably heard of the For the People Act—a set of popular, common-sense policies to strengthen our democracy. The House of Representatives passed it months ago.
But this week, Republicans in the Senate used the filibuster to stop the bill from even being debated.
You might be asking yourself: "Why is this climate group emailing me about democracy reform?" Well, using the filibuster to block progress is Minority Leader McConnell's go-to move. If Senate Democrats don't kill the filibuster—and they can, with their majority—it's going to kill our democracy and our shot at solving the climate crisis.
They need to hear from us now. So here's what I'm asking: Sign on to demand that Democrats use their majority power to abolish the filibuster, so they can pass democracy reform and bold climate solutions before it's too late.

Look, it's no coincidence that many of the people most affected by the restrictive voting laws being passed in state legislatures right now (Black Americans and other people of color) are the same people who face the worst consequences of climate inaction.
If Senate Democrats don't abolish the filibuster and solve our democracy crisis, they won't be able to solve the climate crisis, either—and it's going to be massively harmful to millions of the people who voted for them to solve these problems.
We refuse to stand by while a climate-change-denying, fossil-fuel-funded political party manipulates our democratic process and obstructs climate solutions against the will of the majority.
If you agree, add your name right now to tell Senate Democrats to stand together, abolish the filibuster, and deliver the bold climate agenda that got them elected.
