Friend,
I have some personal news I wanted to share, and as one of my top supporters, I wanted you to hear it from me.
First, I wanted to thank you for the tremendous support and generosity over the last few years. Whether you knocked doors, made phone calls, donated to my campaigns, or some combination of the three, I can’t thank you enough. Upstate New York has been my home my entire life, and being able to serve this community in various capacities has been an incredible honor. I couldn’t do any of this without you.
It’s no secret how important my family has been, and always will be, to me. I cherish all of our family meals, hikes, trips, baseball games, softballs games and more — together.
However, spending time commuting to and from Washington, DC each week took its toll on me, and took me away from Erica, Anthony, Jr., and Lily at such an instrumental time in my kids’ lives.
I wanted to let you know, firsthand, friend, that I will not be running for re-election to Congress in 2022.
It was such a privilege representing New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Together, we accomplished a lot in just two years: from expanding mental health care for our veterans and active duty personnel to ensuring our tax dollars go towards supporting American manufacturing and jobs.
I hope you know that I’ll always be fighting for you and our community, whether I’m your Assemblyman, Congressman, neighbor, or friend.
Thank you for believing in me.
I look forward to keeping in touch.
All the best,
Anthony
