Friend,

Last week, we received two major decisions from the Supreme Court. One was good news, the other was pretty discouraging. They both had one thing in common – Maura was standing on the side of justice and equality.

The good news was that the Supreme Court dismissed yet another challenge to the Affordable Care Act – protecting health care access for millions of American families. For several years now, Maura has been part of the team defending the Affordable Care Act from repeated, unsuccessful Republican attempts to dismantle it. With this latest legal victory under her belt, she’s more focused than ever on continuing our work to make health care more affordable and accessible for all.

Unfortunately, this victory was followed by a more disappointing decision. The Supreme Court ruled that the City of Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with a foster care agency that wouldn’t allow LGBTQ+ couples to adopt children. Maura knows that there are thousands of LGBTQ+ couples across the country who can provide love and support for a child in need, and that’s why she led a coalition of 23 attorneys general in filing a brief in support of the city.

Even though we had two different results in these cases, they are both examples of the importance of electing Democratic AGs who will always stand up for what’s right. This is what Maura has been doing every single day since she was elected the People’s Lawyer. But she can’t do it alone.

Will you thank Maura for always having our backs by making a contribution to help us reach our End of Quarter fundraising goal? We only have eight days left and we’re still $7,500 short! Any small amount that you can contribute will help us close the gap.
