147 member Matt Gaetz had the gall to attack Army General Mark A. Milley in Congress today, friend, accusing the military of being too “woke” because military leaders have studied critical race theory.

General Milley didn’t hold back in his response, telling Gaetz that he was personally offended by the accusation. But Milley didn’t just attack Gaetz for trying to score cheap political points, he emphasized that military leadership being well read was a pressing matter of national security:

“It is important that we train and we understand...What is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America?”

January 6th demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that our national security is being threatened by an authoritarian movement of domestic terrorists and white supremacists. General Milley and the rest of military leadership are taking that threat seriously by studying every side of the current political and civil rights discussion, not just the ones they already agree with.
