Hi Friend,
I’m Genna Williams, and I work with The Trevor Project as the Advocacy & Government Affairs Coordinator. Through legislation, litigation, and public education, we’re able to be the leading advocate for LGBTQ young people in preventative efforts that address the discrimination, stigma, and other factors that place LGBTQ youth at significantly higher risk of suicide.
None of my work would be possible without the support you’ve shown to The Trevor Project.
On my team, advocacy and activism are always how we show love. My number one priority as a visibly and vocally queer adult of color is making sure that young LGBTQ folx feel validated and loved.
One of our biggest priorities right now is working to pass the Equality Act. Our team advocates for laws like this that protect young people from harmful practices, enable them to access affirming healthcare, or equip the institutions within their communities to respond to a suicide crisis should it arise. The Equality Act seeks to ensure equality for the LGBTQ population by amending the Civil Rights Act of 1964.Click here to take action in support of passing the Equality Act.
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people.
