Democrats have put forward a bold effort to protect voting rights across the country.

In the face of restrictive voting laws introduced by Republican legislators in 48 states this year alone, Democrats in the House and Senate proposed a bill to expand voter protections, bring campaign finance transparency, and strengthen government ethics provisions.

The voting rights bill aimed to make it easier, not harder, for Americans to participate in our democracy. Unfortunately, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans

voted against the bill, obstructing legislation aimed at strengthening our democracy.
