Friend -- Last night Mitch McConnell blocked the Senate from even debating our bill to save voting rights.
This is despicable. But make no mistake -- the fight for voting rights is not over. Yesterday was just the beginning. In just a minute, I’ll explain where we go from here. But first, I need you to chip in $10 or whatever you can to help me and Michael Bennet keep fighting for voting rights.
Here’s our end game: Delivering landmark legislation to President Biden and watching as his signature makes protected, accessible, secure, and easy voting the law of the land.
We’ve got to overcome a lot of obstacles to get there, though. And to break through McConnell’s obstruction and save voting rights, we need to protect and expand our majority in the Senate.
That’s starts by re-electing Democrats like Michael Bennet already in the Senate. So I’m asking you to chip in $10 or more right now. Your donation will help us defend our Senate majority and protect voting rights.

Let me tell you this about Senate Democrats: no one is confused about how elections should be in a democracy. Voters elect us to speak for them.
And if voters don’t elect us, we must try harder in the next election to win them over. What we don’t do in a democracy is make it harder for folks to vote. Everyone knows this. But Republicans keep undermining the simple idea that everyone who is eligible to vote should be able to vote. It’s incredible. It’s shameful. One of the most shameful things I’ve seen in a while.
But we can’t back down. I’m asking you to chip in $10 or more to support our Senate majority so we can protect democracy, not erode it. Can you rush a donation right away?
You don’t need me to tell you that the laws Republican state legislators have pushed to limit the number of ballot drop boxes or make it illegal to give folks standing in line to vote some water are anything but an affront to democracy. Once you look at where those laws are being pushed forward, it’s especially clear that they’re racist as well.
We need to stop this. We can stop this. I’ll keep doing my part and fighting for the the right to vote -- but I need your help too.
More soon,
Chuck Schumer
