The Republicans just used the filibuster to kill the For the People Act in the Senate.

This landmark piece of legislation would’ve expanded voter registration and voting access, counteracted Republican bills aimed at undermining voting rights at the state level, and ended partisan gerrymandering.

We’re as angry as you are, but we’re not surprised:

Republicans know that their only hope for winning elections in battleground states comes from discouraging people of color from voting and partisan gerrymandering. They can’t win on their own merits, and they’re using the power of the filibuster to ensure they’ll never have to.
